Kennesaw State’s Center for Statistics and Analytical Research houses the GE Digital Data Science Research Lab, thanks to a research grant from GE Digital.Central to the lab’s mission is investigating business challenges and opportunities created by non-traditional types of data, with the specific emphasis on text based data with the overarching objective to improve GE Digital's commercial customer experience.

With Predix, GE’s platform for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), GE Digital is paving the way for this digital transformation across GE’s own businesses and helping customers transform their own businesses through software, industrial apps and analytics.
The lab utilizes cutting-edge techniques and methodologies including Machine Learning, Text Mining, and Predictive Analytics. The lab employs a faculty supervisor and a Ph.D. student from the Ph.D. program in Analytics and Data Science.
